From Hackathon to Production: The Reviva Journey
Winning the Sopra Steria International Student Challenge with Reviva was a significant milestone in my journey as an AI developer. The hackathon format forced us to think quickly and build something meaningful in a limited time frame.
The initial idea came from recognizing a real problem: many stroke patients struggle with consistent rehabilitation exercises, especially when they can't regularly visit a physical therapist. We wanted to create a solution that could provide professional-level guidance through a smartphone.
Building the prototype in a hackathon environment taught me the importance of focusing on core functionality first. We prioritized the movement recognition system and real-time feedback, knowing that these were the most critical features for demonstrating value.
The win validated our approach and opened doors to further development. Since then, I've continued working on Reviva, refining the algorithms and exploring ways to make it more accessible. The experience reinforced my passion for applying AI to solve real-world healthcare challenges.
